About:

I am an MGB-SIAM Early Career Fellow and a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Theoretical Biology and Biophysics group of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA, working with Alan S. Perelson, Ruy M. Ribeiro, and Ruian Ke. I obtained my Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics and the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IAM) of the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, working with Michael Ward, Colin Macdonald, and Daniel Coombs. Before my studies at UBC, I attended a Masters in Mathematical Sciences program jointly hosted by Stellenbosch University and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), South Africa. I am interested in developing mathematical modelling frameworks for studying biological systems. I also enjoy teaching mathematics at different levels.

Research:

My research focuses on developing data-driven mathematical modelling frameworks for studying biological systems. I use analytical, statistical, computational, and data science techniques in my research. The analytical techniques I use include perturbation theory, asymptotic analysis, dynamical systems theory, bifurcation theory, etc. I inform my models with experimental biological data, clinical data, and public health data. These datasets are used to calibrate my models using techniques such as the Bayesian inference framework, maximum likelihood estimation, least square methods, etc. Click here for more information on the projects I have worked on or currently working on.
